Workshop (2010)

From the very beginning, the organisation was keen on working towards its mission, which was to uphold the style and form of the classical dance paramparas of Karnataka. One effective method that we followed was through workshops. The very first edition of workshops was held from 24th November 2010 to 8th December 2010.

The workshop was headed by the then president of the organisation Late Guru Dr. C. Radhakrishna, who was enthusiastic in his approach to promote the Classical Dance Heritage of Karnataka. The workshop was divided into four sessions over the course of two weeks with the four different Paramparas as the focus. Muguru, Nanjanagudu, Mysuru, Kolara were the four Paramparas being taught in the workshop.

The workshop was divided into two batches, one in the morning for an older age group and one in the evening for the younger ones. The workshop saw compositions of Yajaman Kolar Kittanna being taught. The workshops were held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road, Bangalore and Kaishiki Natyavahini, Jayanagar 8th Block, Bangalore.
